Blind Date

What is your view on blind dates. Are you open to a blind date? I know a lot of people have different stories to tell. Anyone have any experiences to share? After all, meeting someone from a dating site, without exchanging pictures, is basically a 'blind' date! And sometimes even with pictures! (if the person looks way different in person)

I've been on two they were both terrible.. honestly I wanted to leave after the first five minutes. In the first the guy was butt ugly.. the second he was really really really overweight.. sooo.. my resolve is to only date guys with pictures from now on (pictures from many angles! )

I don't mind blind dates actually. It's part of the fun of dating.. a lot of times I'll be chatting to someone without a pic, knowing that if I knew what they looked like, I probably wouldn't be chatting with them.. and then when I meet them, sure they might look odd or what-not, but because I know what he's like already, the date ends up being fun and I can ignore his looks and focus on his personality, and that's what counts in the end

Right now, I think all first dates are blind dates.

I never ever had met a person, who was looking like the photo shown in their avatar.
Even, if we had exchanged photos before meeting, most of the people I met had sent old photos to me.

And none of them looked actually like the photos sent to me.

So it is always: Surprise! Surprise!

I've been on two blind dates in my life and they were both not something I care to remember. There just wasn't any chemistry and when that happens, it makes it awkward to carry on a forced conversation with someone you are not interested in.

I'm still open to blind dates, it's still kinda fun, imagingin that your date is going to be so so much better than he is, or for me it'd be the reverse now.. low expectations, and maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised

I always thought it would be funny to show up for a blind date wearing dark glasses and carrying a white cane, as if you were really blind. LOL. I just have a warped sense of humor.

Oh my! I just started a new topic on blind dates, and I never saw this one. However, I have never had a blind date and I am curious to know about people's experiences with blind dates. I think it is scary to meet people I have never met before. One might end up dating a gorilla! LOL!

I hate blind dates! Yes there is a surprise element and that is interesting but boy you could be surprised! Most of the blind dates I had were disasters because in the first second when you realize that you don't like the other person you are just figuring a way to get out of there :(
