Bring The Confidence On!

By datinggirl On July 15, 2009 Under Dating Tips, Featured Article

We all know a great smile can draw in someone. You’re standing in line at the post office and a cute guy or girl passes by and you smile at them. They catch your smile and more often then not, they smile back. It’s all about confidence and if you don’t think you have it, you can fake it to begin with. Once you start using the tips below, it will come naturally and there you are oozing confidence.

If you wonder why you haven’t met anyone lately in your everyday life, you need to take a look at how you may be presenting yourself. If you’re not feeling it on the inside, what could you possibly be projecting on the outside? Sit down and have a thought or five. Even if you’re not in a good mood and woke up on the wrong side of the bed, crack a smile to your neighbor when you leave the house. Practice smiling. It’s known that if you smile, it can actually put you into a good mood when it didn’t start off that way. Not only does smiling bounce off as a positive element, it softens your face versus a tense expression. Remember, people are drawn to positive people. A smile can draw someone in wherever you are.

Your posture may not seem important to you but are you even  conscious about your posture when you walk into a room? When you leave this article, remember it when you walk into your office, a store, a restaurant, or wherever you may be. Someone that is slouching with their eyes on the ground shouts that they are not confident. Besides, if you’re looking at the ground, how are you suppose to smile at the cute guy or girl that just passed by?!  With your shoulders back and eyes ahead, just walk. Try smiling at the person who is coming towards you. Shaking yourself out of your comfort zone is a great thing if this is all new to you. When you’re at the mall the next time or walking a trendy strip, just take a quick glance and see whose attention grabs you. Isn’t it usually the person who is smiling, laughing and walking like they matter?

Using eye contact with people is a good way to communicate with someone and gives them the impression that you are confident even if you don’t think you are! The next time you’re speaking to someone, try looking into their eyes even if it’s just a friend for practice. When you are out somewhere and someone does catch your attention, don’t forget to smile and bring it on with the eye contact. Catch their eyes once and he or she will know you saw them. A second look will let he or she know you did in fact notice them. This usually gives that person the courage they need to come up to you if they are interested in you as well. Quiet flirting can definitely go a long way and before you know it, you will be meeting new people!
